Relevant Methods & Compliance

First responder respiratory protection programs are governed by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, which mandates annual quantitative fit testing for all personnel required to wear tight-fitting respirators including SCBA facepieces. Full-face respirators require a minimum fit factor of 500, a threshold that qualitative testing methods cannot achieve or verify.
